Highly dignified, dignified and beloved brothers, Potsdam combines tradition and modern thinking since the time of Frederick the Great. We experience with the ancient rituals very personal impulses in a Christian tradition, which make us feel above all the urmenschlichen aspects; We are part of a community and we share common values. Communication is always the central element. On our website everyone can inform themselves at any time about our work and activities and participate in the exchange of thoughts and experiences. The preparation in three languages supports fraternal cooperation across national and organizational boundaries. For our "work" We have gone through several ways of dialogue. In essence it is about a journey inward, each to oneself and a journey to the outside, to the brothers and to the world. There were some very personal suggestions in the instructions, which were then discussed in a relaxed round. In the instructional work in I. Grad, at the beginning of January we were able to use a lecture from an apprentice to a journeyman and a master as a starting point for a personal exchange of experiences. In the first tai of the year we experienced an acceptance and a recording. This was a nice prelude for the New Year 2018. Also for the II. degree, we had a special instructional work in January in which some important places in the ritual were supplemented with a commentary. From this, everyone could absorb new or deepened knowledge. In April, four more brothers were promoted to journeymen and then invited to a hearty breakfast. With two candle evenings we were able to experience another form of exchange of ideas in February and March: A candle is passed on from one to the other in the round. Whoever holds the candle can put his thoughts in the conversation circle. The speaker will not be interrupted. Everyone else listen and give their full attention to him and his thoughts. This stimulates, gives impetus, further thoughts build on it and a special sense of community and appreciation arises. In January, April and June, we had three very intense and successful masterpieces and we are looking forward to all the brothers masters from our friendly lodges who, with their visit, have strengthened the dignified framework of this ritual. In June our temple was well filled with brothers and guests and we were able to add another seeker to our St. John's Lodge. Welcome-Blessed Work! New impulses have been set for the exchange with other lodges. In February we were able to see how our brother Ronald Neumann became honorary member at the Foundation Festival of his mother's Lodge "zum Unswerving Unity" in Hamburg. In May we were guests for our guest evening in the Lodge of the great national Mother's Lodge "to the three world balls" and visited the foundation Festival of our brothers in Eberswalde. This brought a deeper connection through the joint work and Tafelloge and through the carpooling opportunity for personal exchange. At the St. John's Festival in June, many brothers used the opportunity to meet with old acquaintances and to get to know other dedicated brothers from near and far during the welcome evening and the Tafelloge after the ritual. This way the connection is maintained and new personal connections are established. An open program with lectures and encounters arouses interest and brings a postivies image of Freemasonry into the public sphere as well. During our monthly guest evenings, interesting talks brought together many brothers and guests at the large table in the Hohenzollern room in Dahlem. At the restaurant Schiff in Potsdam we were able to welcome many guests to our maties meal on Ash Wednesday and at the end of May to traditional asparagus food. The Berlin Sonari Choir brought a special musical delight to all participants and onlookers. So we nurture fellowship through personal encounters and open ourselves up to society.
